In 2000, we were remodeling our kitchen and installing a corner cupboard for which we wanted a glass insert. Of course, the choices that the cabinet company offered were BORING, not to mention very expensive! So, I said to my husband, 'I have always wanted to learn how to do stained glass, so why don't I find a class and then we can design and make our own glass insert.' He thought it was a great idea and that is just what I did!
I called a shop in East Rochester, New York, and found out that a new class was about to start for only $70.00 for eight weeks. What a bargain! I enrolled and was hooked from the very first night! At first, I was timid and thought I would never be able to make a breakable score. By the second class, I got over my timidity and I was ready, willing and able to try anything!
My glass insert was designed by my husband and I together. It was my third project! It is a beautiful cobalt blue streaky, clear baroque, beveled and grape bevel cluster creation that I am so proud of! Everyone that sees it loves it!
Oh, the other great thing to come of this endeavor is that I never considered myself to have had any artistic talent. I now very proudly call myself a stained glass artist, and have been from that very first class!
Thank you for letting me share my story with you ( and maybe other SGN readers.)
   – Jodi Peck

I always had an interest in doing stained glass. So when I retired, I joined the local Senior Center and started taking classes in March, 2004. Now, it has become one of my favorite hobbies as it allows me to use my imagination to develop pieces of art that were just thoughts. I really enjoy going to buy glass as I see the potential of its use.

I have always enjoyed stained glass and when I retired I took a beginners class. After that I have continued with building many projects and find it enjoyable to experiment in different methods and designs. Most of my work is original or a derivative of something I have seen."
